Omur Duruerk
I was born in 1984 in Denizli / Turkiye.
I met with glass in 2005 by enrolling Istanbul Glass Furnace and working with Julie Anne Denton. When I experienced melting of glass, I felt that I could not be away from flame anymore. And it happens so. At the end of 2006 WE ( I and Fatih Duruerk,my husband ) set up Karma Design Studio where we can create a world through glass and try to develop studio glass movement in our country.
I love emphasizing different cases of human being via this soft, transparent and fragile material. I also teach flameworking technique to people and share my knowledge with the flameworkers in Turkiye and other parts of the world. Since 2011, I have been the organizer of first flamework based glass biennial of Turkiye :International Denizli Glass Biennials.
